FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much will my puppy cost?
There are many factors that impact on the pricing of our puppies, though we do try to keep it as streamline as possible. All our breeding bassets are thoroughly health tested, fed premium diets and supplements, and exhibited to champion status in New Zealand, all of this is done to ensure you are getting a sound puppy. Our prices reflect this. Further information available on application to adopt.
What does my puppy come with?
All puppies come with a 'puppy pack' consisting of a bag of food, familiar bedding, lead & collar, treats and toys. Additionally we provide 4 weeks free insurance through PD Insurance to protect against any nasty surprises as your new family member transitions into their home. Puppies will be on a parasitic prevention protocol and will have received their first vaccination alongside microchipping and registration on the national data base. All Pricetige puppies will come with pedigree papers and lifetime support from us. Furthermore, any homed locally will have puppy preschool classes paid for at selected veterinary clinics in Taranaki.
Do I have to get my puppy desexed?
Yes. All puppies come with a Dogs NZ endorsement stating they are NOT to be bred from. They must be desexed between 12-18 months of age.
What health testing is done?
All our breedings are carefully planned based off health testing results with the aim to produce 'clear' litters. In adherence with the Dogs NZ regulations we test all our Basset Hounds for the following predisposed conditions: Primary Open Angle Glaucoma, Lafora and Thrombocytopenia.
Do you often have puppies available?
No, we do not volume breed. We have a litter every few years, and it is done with the intention of keeping something for our kennels.
Are you interested in a Pricetige Basset puppy?
That's great news! Our advice, ensure you conduct due diligence research on the breed to confirm your decision. They make absolutely fabulous family companions and are incredibly loyal. However, they are a scent hound, and with that comes stubbornness and a high food drive. Feel free to reach out to us if you wish to discuss this further.
How can I join the waitlist?
To purchase one of our puppies, we have an application process and a waitlist, this ensures we are matching the right puppy to the absolute best home possible. The future of our puppies, and what you can offer them is our priority. Contact us to get the process started.
